The hands are the only body parts in the rowing boat that are defenselessly connected to the boat. But how can you prevent the annoying blistering? Coaches and rowers from various rowing clubs in the USA have been thinking about this for 3 years and ultimately developed the perfect rowing glove: The Crew Stop rowing gloves.
The soft rowing gloves is sewn from a roughened material. The arrangement of the silicone elements on the palm of the hand, optimized for rowing, prevents the rowing handle from slipping. Thanks to integrated rubber tabs on the back of the fingers, the gloves sit tightly and exactly where it needs to be. Very well considered is also the length of the fingers, which ensures optimal mobility of the hand and the necessary sensitivity on the rowing handle. On the top, The Crew Stop rowing gloves are closed by a 3 cm long Velcro fastener.
The lightweight and durable rowing gloves allow longer workouts, especially for beginners - easier and faster than attaching tapes. The Crew Stop rowing gloves are washable with cold water. Please simply lay it out flat to dry.
The rowing gloves from CrewStop are also suitable for rowing on the rowing ergometer, such as the Concept 2 rowing ergometer. This rowing glove leaves the little finger free for the rowing feeling when sculling, but the rowing glove covers the entire palm so that no blisters or calluses can form in front of the little finger.
The rowing glove is ideal for rowers who are regularly on the water. For rowers who are not so often on the water, we recommend the rowing gloves from JLSPORT.
To find out your size:
Measure the circumference of your palm at the widest point with your fingers outstretched. If you are between two sizes and your fingers or wrists are rather large, then fall back on the larger size. Useful tips for size selection can be found in this video:
"If you've ever had blisters, you know how distracting they can be. Focusing on acute pain will psychologically affect the quality of your rowing. The result is a compromise. Perfection can be exclusive. No matter how well we think, we row, there is always room for improvement. Why should a bubble stand in the way?" (Text: TheCrewStop Team)
