The Active-Tools ActiveTime Stroke Counter - The most important functions at a glance:

  • Stroke rate measurement:
The new accelerometer detects small fluctuations in boat speed and detects stroke rates from 15 to 55 beats/minute.
  • Check factor:
The check factor can be displayed on the ActiveTime impact counter. It is calculated using the accelerometer and provides information about the braking of the boat during the rudder stroke. Two strokes each are averaged. It is adjusted to the number of strokes, because the negative acceleration inevitably increases with the frequency. The value of the check factor varies depending on the crew weight and the boat class. Experience has shown that it is between 35 and 40 for top teams at race speeds, and 60 to 70 for less experienced rowers.
  • Auto-start-stop function:
From the rest, the ActiveTime recognizes the start of a workout. In the same way, it is recognized when the athlete stops rowing.
  • Memory function:
The ActiveTime automatically stores the time, the average stroke rate and the average check factor of the last 10 workouts
  • Battery:
The ActiveTime is equipped with a replaceable betterie type CR2032 and has a battery level indicator. A low battery level is displayed at startup.
  • Installation:
Installation is clean and easy as no wires or plugs are used. The installation is carried out with the associated suction cup or screw mount, both of which are included in the scope of delivery.
  • Time:
The ActiveTime can display the current time.
  • Manual stroke rate measurement:
Due to the possibility of manual stroke rate measurement at the push of a button, the device can also be used, for example, by trainers for stroke rate measurement.

The impact counters of Active-Tools in comparison:
All models are battery-operated with a running time of around 130 hours in rudder operation. For protection, they have a replaceable silicone bumper that is available in three colors and fits on both models. Compared to the ActiveRate model, the ActiveTime model is equipped with the possibility of displaying the check factor.

Active Tools was founded in London in 2002 and develops all its products itself.

Based on the experience of racing rowers and additional technical know-how, some very interesting products have been created that help rowers and trainers to analyze their performance and simplify measurements on the boat.

the declared goal of Active Tools is to produce the best possible rowing products. This approach has led to numerous innovative, patented designs.

The Active Tools factory is located near Henley in England and all Active Tools products are developed and prototyped in-house. With this approach, Active Tools can create innovative designs very quickly. Subsequently, the prototypes and initial production samples are extensively tested and inputs from coaches, rowers and coxes are obtained in order to make the designs as optimal as possible. Active Tools speedometers were the first to use accelerometers to eliminate the need for seat magnets, and the Active Tools CoxOrbs do far more than any other rudder amplifier ever before.

The Active Tools delivers directly in the UK and through specifically selected representatives in several countries.

"New products are always under development and we welcome comments on existing products and suggestions for new ones."
